General information about the software

Concrete Quality is the easiest state-of-the-art application to manage the quality of your concrete production and to calculate your mix designs. Here you will learn:

  • Installation: if you experience issues when trying to install or update the application or any required componentes, you will find tips and recommendations to solve them here. If you have no problems and everything works fine, you don’t need to read this. Learn more.
  • Sign up as a new user and Sign in: The first thing you’ll find upon starting the app. We explain how to create a new user and sign in, it’s quite simple and it only takes a minute. Learn more.
  • Environment and options: You will learn here to navigate the application, to select the active workgroup, connect with the server and modify the general application options, like the app’s language. Learn more.
  • Usability: We have made a big effort to make the app intuitive and easy to use. Learn the features found in Concrete Quality that will make your work faster and easier. Learn more.

Synchronize your data in the cloud

The Concrete Quality software allows you synchronize your data in our web-based serves (“cloud”), and to share your information in several ways:

  • Synchronize to save your data: learn how to use the Synchonize functionality to save your data in our servers, so you can have access your information from any computer and have a backup copy at the same time. Learn more.
  • Share your data within your organization: learn how to use the Workgroups feature to automatically share data with people in your organization. Easy to understand and set up, information will be updated every time you synchronize. Learn more.
  • Send copies and share information with other organizations: the Share feature allows you to send a copy or to share selected entities with people working outside your organization. Ideal to send test reports that automatically integrate with the recipient’s database, and to take part of joint R&D processes. Learn how to be a good boy: Share!

How to use Lab & Testing

The R&D Lab is divided in three sections:

  • Studies: here you can manage your R&D process. A study groups a number of batches that are prepared with a goal in mind, for example to compare the yield of two different mix designs. The batches can belong to several studies at the same time, so you can always use the same batch as a comparison standard without the need to repeat it every time. Learn more.
  • Batches: in this section you can see the information about your batches in full detail, both the ones in statistical control and those not for production control. You can see information about production, casting, sampling, testing and whatever you imagine. Learn more.

The Raw Materials section

In this section you keep all the information about the different types of raw materials you can use in your concrete production:

  • Aggregates
  • Cement
  • Water
  • Chemical admixtures
  • Additions (like fly ash, GBFS, etc.)
  • Fibers
  • Other materials

The approach is the same for all types, with a difference in the specific characteristics and the test types for each one.

Each material has a Samples collection, upon which the corresponding test are performed to define the material characteristics.

The Concrete QA/QC

The Production section allows you to manage your batching plants and jobsites, and to obtain statistical information about your quality control. Inside Production you can find the following sections:

  • Locations: you can manage Batching Plants, Jobsites, Laboratories, Suppliers, etc., in here. Given the location type you will find a different kind of information displayed for it: mixes of a batching plant, raw materials sold by a supplier, etc. Learn more.
  • Projects: Manage your construction projects and print project-specific reports. Projects groups batching plants, jobsites and mix designs, so you can quickly get all the concrete batches delivered. You can also record information about the contractors, finishers and all involved parties.
  • Statistical Control: with this tool you will never use a spreadsheet again to control your concrete results. Easy to use and very powerful, you can sort, filter and group your information in any way you want, and at the same time it gives you calculated values and results for your quality control. Learn more.
  • Pivot Grid: the perfect tool to manage large volumes of data and analyze them from different perspectives. Here you can see the big numbers of your quality control and analyze tendencies and detect weak spots. Use the predefined views or create your own. Learn more.
  • Strengths Distribution: presents an histogram that will classify your concrete results into a frequency chart. Filter by batching plant, jobsite, mix design, etc., to get exactly the information you need to make the best decisions.
  • Variation Coefficient: this tool offers an advanced statistical analysis about your production and mix designs, thay you can see represented in a time dependent chart, along with the moving average for the compressive strength. Learn more.
  • Mix Designs Result History: this tool allows you to evaluate, in a simple way by a graphical represention, the evolution in time of the key performance indicators of your mix designs: strength, slump, air content, etc. Learn more.

How to use the Mix Designs section

  • Mix Designs: you keep here all your mix designs and their versioning history. The components and their quantities are grouped into “versions” that let you track the evolution of your mix design in time. Learn more.
  • Reference Gradings: you can save your custom reference gradings here, to be used in the mix design calculation and optimization process with Quality Mix.

Quality Mix features a powerful yet easy-to-use tool for mix design calculation. You can use any of its mix design methods:

  • Step by Step design: with the Step by Step mode you let Quality Mix guide you and help you make decisions throughout each step of the mix design process: goals definition, conditions at the jobsite, raw materials selection, mix design method election, etc. Together with your results you will get recommendations and warnings to successfully cast the concrete you just designed. Learn more.
  • Expert Mode!: Use the same calculation algorithms you can find in the Step by Step mode, but with all your information at a glance. It does not give you recommendations, but you can calculate mix designs quickly and try out different options. Learn more.
  • ACI 211: The most popular mix design method in the USA and other countries. Easily guides your through the mix design process without the need of looking into tables or charts. Takes into account all requirements (concrete cover, exposure, statistical data, etc.). At the end of the process it helps you create a test batch and make corrections to your mix design based on the test results.

What is the Global Vision?

The Global Vision section shows the key performance indicators for your batching plants, mix designs, etc., so you can compare them even between different workgroups. In this section you will find:

  • Dashboard: the most relevant information about Batching Plants, Jobsites, Mix Designs, Studies, Laboratories and Suppliers, displayed in an attractive graphic way, with key performance indicators. With this tool you will be able to know at a glance the general situation of your quality management. You can also compare the results and yield for entities within the same workgroup or belonging to different workgroups. Learn more.
  • Batches Global Vision: a pivot table that you can configure to show information in any way, with the key results of your concrete production. Here you can compare batching plants, jobsites and mix designs of different workgroups, among others. Learn more.
  • Raw Materials Global Vision: Here you have a tool that works in the same way as the Batches Global Vision, but with the key performance indicators for your raw materials: samples, tests and costs. You can also compare information between workgroups here. Learn more.

The Communications and you

Inside the Communications section you can manage everything related to workgroups and users. Here you will find:

  • User profile management: here you can modify your personal information, upload your picture, your company’s logo and your signture so they can appear in the reports generated by the application. You can also change your password here. Learn more.
  • Manage workgroups: here you can create new workgroups and invite other users to join them. You can also look for other workgroups and request admission, or simply add them to your acquaintances to share information with them without actually joining the workgroup. You can also manage the invitations you send and receive. Learn more.
  • Solve equivalences: when you receive information from acquaintance workgroups, sometimes you need to decide if certain materials, locations or mix designs are already present in your local database. This process is important, because if you have unsolved equivalences you will not receive new data when you synchronize. Learn here how to solve them.

How to manage your Subscriptions

In the Subscriptions section you can hire and manage the subscriptions to the paid services offered by Concrete Quality. Here you will find:

  • Subscriptions management: you can see and manage the active subscriptions and activate subscriptions for new services. The payment is performed in this section. Learn more.
  • Billing: you can check here your consumption history and print the invoices for any of your subscriptions, active or inactive. Learn more.
  • Terms and conditions: in this section you can find the terms and conditions that apply for application, website and subscription services use. This section is completely informative, it has no funcionalities. See Legal Information.
